People ask me all the time, "Where do you get your oils?" "Are they DoTerra or Young Living?" I always say, "NO! They're Tree of India!"
Essential oils come from all around the world. Some are distilled from plants that are grown on farms, some are from plants collected in the wild. To tell you where I source our oils would be to give away some of my most valuable trade secrets and years of research and experimentation. I source oils from many different places. I have an aromatherapist's "nose" for quality oils and I make my initial selections based on how an oil smells. If I like it, I will ask the distiller for it's GC/MS report.
WHAT IS A GC/MS REPORT??
There are NO legal standards in place to regulate essential oil production and grading. In other words, there IS NO GRADING system for essential oils. The only true measure of the efficacy and purity of an oil is to look at the results of Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry testing. Gas Chromatography (GC) is a method of separating the volatile compounds in essential oils into individual components. It produces a linear graph that charts each component. Mass Spectrometry (MS) identifies each of these components and their percentages. This process can identify if an oil has been "adulterated" -- diluted or polluted with another substance, often a cheaper filler with no therapeutic properties. Adulteration almost always destroys the vibrational energy/frequency from the plant.
Tree of India essential oils are tested by GC/MS and chosen for their therapeutic value based on these tests. I keep the reports on file for each oil, and I am happy to provide them to customers who would like to see them. Send me an email jessica@treeofindia.com to request GC/MS results for any oil on our site. The reports change from batch to batch depending upon the growing season, soil conditions, weather, etc.
Not all essential oils are available as ORGANIC, but where I am able to source organic oils with excellent GC/MS results and a fine fragrance...I will be adding them to the collection.
Our collection of essential oils is constantly changing and improving. If I find a new supplier for an oil and I love the aroma or determine that it has better GC/MS values, I will switch! As a consumer, you have the assurance of knowing that a Certified Aromatherapist with more than 30 years of experience is carefully hand-selecting your oils!
